Mission Trips to El Tejar
When you join one of our Mission trips, you help us make a difference in the lives of Mayan kids & families in the villages surrounding our farm. We gladly coordinate all the logistics and take care of your group from the moment you arrive at the airport in Guatemala City until it is time to leave full of wonderful memories.
At our Del Cafe (Del Carmen con Fe) Missions Center, we minister to Mayan kids & youth from several villages neighboring our farm.
Missionaries stay at our new simple, yet beautiful Missionary Dorms and experience a simple way of life while serving Mayan families in need and helping strengthen their faith. Some Mission Trips include day tours to visit the colonial City of Antigua and its magestic churches and monasteries; the Iximche Mayan Ruins, or Lake Atitlan, depending on requests from Mission Coordinators.
Mission Trip Highlights:
Use your love and energy to brighten the day of children and youth
Activities may include preparing and serving meals; teaching English words and songs to children; guiding them in prayer; helping distribute donations; making Bible crafts; learn new prayers; playing games and soccer with kids.
Roll up your sleeves and work on a community or church improvement program. We have helped paint the village Church, build and altar, and sand & paint church benches.
Missionaries will have time for reflection and prayer or devotionals in our peaceful mountain setting.
Sort and prepare donation packages such as food baskets, first aid kits, school supplies, toys, etc.
Voluntourism: A Vacation with a Purpose
Family members or groups of friends have found our vacations with a purpose very rewarding. While you stay at our Mountain Lodge, take some time to help with any of our DelCafe Social Programs, beneffiting Mayan kids and families from villages neighboring our farm. Immerse yourself in the culture while making a difference. You will be rewarded with smiles and hugs from kids who would love for you to teach them English, play games or music, read books to them, or make crafts. Then spend the rest of your vacation enjoying the farm, or let us plan daytrips to the colonial city of Antigua, Lake Atitlan, or the Iximche Mayan Ruins.
